How to Organise a Clutter-Free Bathroom

When you get your brand new bathroom, it looks like a showroom, but we all know that it won’t last.  It can’t stay empty and spotless, and as soon as toiletries, towels and, well, kids, come in it can quickly become a chaotic, busy place again.  So here are some easy tips to help you keep your bathroom organised and (a bit) clutter-free!

1. Don’t put it all back

When you empty your bathroom before we come to install your new one, you are bound to have found some things that you don’t need anymore.  Maybe you’ve got some expired products, or that bottle of expensive bubble bath with just a tiny drop left.  Or maybe some of your towels have seen better days.  If you can bring yourself to do it, only keep the things you use, and clear out as much as you can.

2. Make use of vertical storage

Scottish bathrooms don’t tend to have much floor space, so making use of vertical space is a great way to add storage to your bathroom. You could install shelves above the toilet or next to the vanity. Tall cabinets and wall-mounted organisers are also a great way to keep toiletries, cleaning supplies, and more within reach without taking up your counter space.

3. Don’t forget the door

We’ve installed a lot of shelves over doors recently, it’s a great spot for extra space that would otherwise go unused.  You can also get over-the-door organisers or use hooks to keep things within easy reach and towels off the floor (well, it helps, but there’s no guarantee!).

4. Choose Multi-Functional Furniture

Free-standing sinks look great, but they take up a lot of space.  Consider a vanity unit with built-in cabinets or drawers.  Another way to save space is to choose a cabinet with a mirror installed – two things you need in one space!
